"When we are in Italy, we are tired of it. But when we are not in Italy, we miss it." Hernán Crespo.

During the more than three years that I have lived in Italy I have been lucky to travel through many places and cities of this wonderful country. And all that time I felt that it was a country to be traveling around it for a lifetime. However, I never wanted to live in Italy for a long period of time. Now that I am no longer there, I can not help but miss it, and I am sure that I will return from time to time, because that admiration and rejection that it is able to cause, renders it genuinely addictive.

For photographers it sometimes becomes difficult to photograph many of its most famous monuments. Who has not ever seen the Tower of Pisa? That makes us to have to squeeze our imagination to do something different. On this occasion I had clear that the wall's door would serve as a framework for the tower, but when I saw the Italian flag of one of the souvenirs stalls, which fluttered with the wind, I could not resist including it as part of the image.

Durante los más de tres años que he vivido en Italia he tenido la suerte de viajar por muchos lugares y ciudades de este maravilloso país. Y durante todo ese tiempo sentí que era un país para estar viajando por él durante toda la vida. En cambio, en ningún momento deseé vivir en Italia durante un largo período de tiempo. Ahora que ya no estoy allí, no puedo evitar echarla de menos, y estoy seguro que volveré de vez en cuando, porque esa admiración y ese rechazo que es capaz de provocar, la vuelven genuinamente adictiva.

Para el fotógrafo a veces se vuelve difícil fotografiar muchos de sus monumentos más conocidos. ¿Quién no ha visto alguna vez la Torre de Pisa?. Eso nos lleva a tener que exprimir nuestra imaginación para hacer algo diferente. En esta ocasión tenía claro que la puerta de la muralla me serviría para enmarcar la torre, pero cuando vi la bandera italiana de uno de los tenderetes de artículos de recuerdo, que ondeaba con el viento, no pude resistirme a incluirla también como parte de la imagen.
